Education – Potential – Character
These are the pillars on which our academic program is based. We desire to give our students a solid foundation for the future by providing a Christ-centered, college preparatory experience.
Students in grades 6 – 12 are exposed to a traditional liberal arts curriculum. They enroll in math, science, history/English, Bible, foreign language, fine arts and PE/athletics. Our daily schedule is a modified, rotating 8-period block. Each course meets four 50-minute periods per week. First and last block of each day are primarily reserved for Athletics and Fine Arts classes. Wednesday morning is a late start for students so that teachers can meet regularly for prayer, devotional and professional training. Chapel and advisory also occur each Wednesday.
All middle school students are assigned to a study hall that meets four times per week. The guidance counselor rotates through these study halls presenting material related to organizational skills, test taking strategies, and peer relationships. Upper school students who choose not to participate in fine arts and/or athletics are also assigned to study hall.
All students meet with advisory groups following Chapel each week. These small group meetings provide an opportunity for students to strengthen relationships and develop character as well as participate in follow-up discussions on the Chapel topic.
