Rod Fletcher grew up in Pasadena, CA and has invested one-third of his life into educating young people. He began his career in education at Jackson Preparatory School in Jackson, MS. During his tenure at Jackson Prep, he taught courses in Pre-algebra and Algebra. He also designed and taught a course called Character Exploration that focused on teaching students the principles of godly character. In addition to teaching, he was involved in sponsoring and coaching numerous extracurricular activities including varsity girls’ soccer (three state championships), varsity boys’ soccer (two state championships), student government, and an intramural program. From Jackson Prep the Lord led Mr. Fletcher to Atlanta, GA to serve as a principal at Whitefield Academy. While at Whitefield he strengthened policies and procedures impacting vital areas of student life, including recruiting teachers, developing and hiring staff, refining and developing the curriculum, and implementing new student codes of conduct. During his years at Whitefield the school added six grades and grew from 230 to 525 students.
