As Athletic Director, Wally Dawkins brings a wealth of experience and success to The Brook Hill School. Currently in his 31st year of coaching in Texas, Dawkins began his career at Lueders-Avoca (1979-90), then coached at Clyde (1980-82), Tyler Chapel Hill (1982-87), and at Whitehouse (1987-2008) before coming to Brook Hill in the summer of 2008. During that time, Dawkins has coached football, boys basketball, girls basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, and track.

As a Head Boys Basketball Coach, Dawkins has racked up 589 career victories in 28 years as a head coach.  Selected as Coach of the Year 16 times, Dawkins teams recorded 20 straight winning seasons at Whitehouse and now Brook Hill, and made the state playoffs 16 of those seasons. Dawkins was selected as the East Texas Basketball Coach of the Year in 2008 before he retired from Whitehouse last spring. Last year's Brook Hill team went 28-9, were district, area, and regional champions before advancing to the state tournament semi-finals.

Dawkins played 4 years of basketball in college (Abilene Christian'79), and has been married for 29 years to wife Laurie, who teaches 4th grade at The Brook Hill Lower School.

The Dawkins have two children.  Their son Brady (26) was a 1st Team All-State basketball player at Whitehouse, received a scholarship and became a 4 year letterman and 2 year Captain at NCAA Division I Texas-Arlington.  Daughter Dru was a two-year Captain of the Whitehouse First Ladies Drill Team and is now Captain of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. The Dawkins reside in Whitehouse.
