Brook Hill 8th grade A volleyball tops All Saints

Brook Hill middle school volleyball went traveled to Tyler to take on All Saints in four volleyball matches on Monday.

Said Brook Hill coach Candise Wise about the middle school effort: “Our girls played with courage and heart.”

The Lady Guard 8th Grade A team won its match in a hard-fought three set victory, 22-25, 25-20 and 15-10. Leaders for 8th A were Emily Livesay (1 assist, 2 kills), Mary Roberts (4 kills), Morgan Maddox (2 kills) and Halie Foster (1 kill).

The 8th grade B team lost in two games, 25-21, 25-16.

Both 7th grade teams fell short in their attempts to take down All Saints with 7th A falling in two games, 27-25, 25-21 and 7th B outlasted in three games, 25-21, 15-25, 15-9.

Leading the way for 7th A were Bethany Durrett (1 kill, 1 ace), Emily Gragg (1 kill, 1 assist), Marlee Gunter (2 assists, 1 ace), Madyson McEuen (1 kill, 2 aces), Sarah Sims (1 ace) and Grace Carpenter (1 kill).

Leaders for the 7th B were Avery Moss (2 kills, 1 ace), Callie Bailey (6 aces), Meredith Priddy (1 ace) and Savannah McRight (2 aces).

BHMS will be back in action on Monday at home against Grace Community. The 7th B and 8th B matches are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. with the A team matches to follow.
