Brook Hill MS volleyball teams sweep Palestine

Brook Hill middle school enjoyed a perfect outing against Palestine on Tuesday with all four teams securing victories.

The 7th Grade B team started things off, overcoming a loss in Game 1 to rally and win the next two games over Palestine to win 23-25, 25-19, 15-8. Harley Cooper’s strong serves helped fuel the victory.

Strong serving also was key for the 8th Grade B team, which used 5 aces apiece from Ashley Scammahorn and Hallie Meister to defeat Palestine, 25-14, 25-9

In the 7th Grade A match, Brook Hill was too much in a sweep victory, 25-12, 25-15. Team leaders on the stat sheet were Marlee Gunter (1 assist), Emma Lambert (1 ace), Grace Carpenter (1 ace, 1 kill), Sarah Sims (2 aces), Emily Gragg (3 aces, 2 assists), Madyson McEuen (1 kill) and Bethany Durrett (1 kill).

The 8th Grade A team completed the fourth and final victory on the night for Brook Hill. The Lady Guard needed three games to do it, defeating Palestine 11-25, 25-15, 15-6. Leaders for Brook Hill were Morgan Maddox (1 ace, 9 assists), Halie Foster (1 ace), Mary Roberts (1 ace, 6 kills), McKenna Lovelady (1 ace), Nia Carter (1 ace), Neeley Clark (3 kills) and Mattison O’Neill (2 digs).
