California, Here We Come

The “California Here We Come” SPARC course was such a SUCCESS! God showed us so much of His favor throughout our trip. We studied the book of James which led us to understand more of how to follow and walk with Jesus. James taught us how our choices and words hold more weight as a believers. We can’t serve and live for both God and this world. We do not hold the key to our future and another day isn’t promised, so we put that into practice every opportunity we had by jam packing our 5 day trip!
Monday was our traveling day. We visited The California Academy of Sciences where we got to explore the rain forest, check out the aquarium and swamp and see a show in the planetarium.

Tuesday we took a boat to Alcatraz and learned all about the history of the prison on the island. We took an audible tour through the prison where we heard some of the inmates’ stories and escape attempts. We stopped at Cafe 23 and had lunch overlooking the water. Later that day, we got hands on experience in the Exploratorium. Everything had a purpose and everything was meant to be touched, explored and played with! We finished the night off with reservations at the famous California Pizza Kitchen.
Wednesday was our day for adventure. Before our bike ride we visited Ghirardelli Square for some famous chocolate goodies. All 23 girls biked a 9.0 mile course which led us across the Golden Gate Bridge into the city of Sausalito. The scenic ride was overwhelmingly beautiful. Later that day we saw the zig zag world famous Lombard Street. We finished the day with dinner at Boudin Bakery, a delicious San Francisco restaurant in Fisherman’s Wharf.

Thursday was an early morning drive to Meir Woods National Park to see the tallest and widest Redwood trees left in San Francisco. We hiked a 2.0 mile trail through the trees and then spent some quiet time with Jesus in the book of James. That afternoon we ventured around Fisherman’s Wharf site seeing and shopping. Next we had an official segway tour of San Francisco.

On our segways we got to see Coit Tower, venture up and down the steep hills of San Fran, see a breathtaking view of the The Golden Gate Bridge, and we got to stroll down Lombard street! So. Fun. That night we finished with a great experience at the Rainforest Cafe.

Friday was our chill Cali day. We took a Bridge to Bridge Boat Tour and learned even more about the history of San Francisco. After our tour we went and saw the infamous Painted Ladies as well as finding the actual house in the show Full House. We ventured down to Chinatown and finished with a surprise dinner for the girls at the oldest Italian restaurant in San Francisco, Tommaliso’s.

We had an absolute blast and the girls were incredible and such a blessing to be around all week. Super FUN memories were most definitely made in San Francisco, and God deserves all the glory!

God is good!
