Brook Hill Chapel
Chapel at Brook Hill is designed to minister to the student body in a fashion that is challenging, encouraging and relevant to life. Each week the middle school and upper school student body joins together for corporate Scripture reading, worship and meaningful messages delivered by the Brook Hill faculty and staff as well as noted public figures from East Texas, such as David Dykes, Leo Berman, Robert Peltier, Mike Massar, and many others.
Not only is weekly chapel a time of spiritual enrichment, but it is also an opportunity for students to develop their skills as chaplains, worship leaders, technical assistants and even speakers. At Brook Hill we endeavor to allow students to own weekly chapel services as much as is feasible. We have seen great strides towards leadership development as we train our students in these varying capacities.
Our upcoming senior class of 2008 has selected as the 07/08 verse I John 4:7-9 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been fathered by God and knows God. The person who does not love does not know God, because God is love. By this the love of God is revealed in us: that God has sent his one and only Son into the world so that we may live through him.
The Brook Hill School’s mission statement declares our intent to develop each student’s character. One of the strongest vehicles by which this is accomplished is our weekly chapel service at Brook Hill.
