Did You Know? 2013-2014 Highlights

From the desk of Jenna Winegeart:

Lower School (Pre-K through 5th Grade)

  • Biblical foundation for all curriculum:  Bible study, scripture memorization, discussion of Christian values, behaviors, and  expectations are woven throughout all curriculum
  • Class size maximum : 18 students
  • Music, Art, Spanish, P.E., Library, and Computer offered each week with optional Strings instruction available

The Village at The Brook (Boarding Program 8th through 12th Grades)

  • New boarding house for the 2013-2014 school year
  • 65 Students representing  13 nations with 37 students new to the 13-14 school year
  • Traveled to the 6th Floor Museum, FC Dallas Soccer math, Dallas World Aquarium, Medieval Times, and more already this year

Academics  Program

  • Accredited through Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
  • 2.6 million dollars in scholarships offered to the 50-member senior class of 2012
  • 99 college-credit hours offered through Duel credit and AP courses
  • Upper school students completed 8,483 hours of community service in 2011-2012

Fine Arts Program (Orchestra, Drama, Choir, Visual Art)

  • Upper School Orchestra: 3rd place overall with 7 Superior ratings at the TAPPS 3A State Instrumental Music Contest for 2013
  • Upper School Choir: 3rd place overall in TAPPS state for 3A choirs for 2013
  • Middle School Choir: 6th annual middle school musical, Fiddler on the Roof, Jr.
  • Drama: 14th annual fall dinner theatre and spring musical performances

Athletics Program

  • Henderson Cup Champion for 2012-2013
  • 2012-2013 State Champions in Girls’ Soccer, Boys’ Golf, and Baseball
  • 11 senior student athletes graduated and signed to play at the collegiate level in 2013
  • 19 full-time coaches invested in our students’ lives all day everyday
