LADY GUARD LOOKS TO BE STRONG IN 09-10 CAMPAIGN

The Brook Hill Lady Guard Basketball Team, a playoff berth team last season, looks to improve for the 2009-2010 campaign as legendary Coach Curtis Corley returns for his 38th season as a girls basketball coach in Texas.

Corley, who led the LaPoynor Lady Fliers to the U.I.L. State Tournament in class A on 8 different occasions, while winning it all 4 different times, welcomes back All-District performer Erica Eden and backcourt mate Amy Jo Teague to lead the team this season.

The two talented guards will have plenty of help inside as 5'11 Senior post Dara Udom returns.  Udom was a powerful shot blocker last season averaging 5 blocks and 8 rebounds per contest.

Eden and Teague both provide ball handling and 3 point shot capability to give the Lady Guard that much needed inside-outside punch basketball coaches dream of.

Not only do these three starters return, but power forward Michelle Stephenson, a starter last season is back.  Stephenson gave the blue and orange additional scoring inside and aided Udom with board help.

Rounding out the returning starting five is Jenny Anderson, and 6th man Kelsey Barton.  These six girls along with Sally Lee, Emily Brunner, Soo Hyun Ko and Ziyi He, as well as a talented group of incoming freshman, have the Lady Guard faithful looking for a deep run into the playoffs
