GOLF TEAMS HOPE FOR REPEAT SUCCESS IN 2010

The 2010 Boys and Girls Golf teams hope a repeat of last year's success awaits them for the upcoming season.

Last year's girls' team was District Champions, while finishing 2nd in Regional play, and also being Runner-Up at the state meet.

Coach Tim Moore's girls' squad will have 3 returning players from last year's squad in Stevi Alexander, Sarah Thigpen, and Paige Ferrell.  Coach Moore expects several new outstanding players from the JV and MS teams to provide support.

On the boys' side, Moore's team comes off District and Regional Championships as well as a 3rd place finish at State.  Bo Seamonds, last year's State Meet Medalist has graduated, but all other of the 4 team members return including Maselyn Walker, Preston Swink, Ross Lee, and Carter Clements.

To find a replacement for Seamonds, Moore will look to a strong JV team to fill the open spot left by Seamond's graduation.

GOLF TEAMS WIN DISTRICT, REGIONAL CROWN; ADVANCE TO STATE

Golf Coach Tim Moore has a long history of fielding some of the top golf teams in the state year in and year out.  This year is no exception.

Moore's Boys Golf team won both the District 4-3A and Regional Championships, while The Lady Guard golfers were also District Champs, and Runner-Up in Regional play.

In district action, Bo Seamands won the Medalist title shooting a sizzling 73 at Eagles Bluff Country Club, host of the district match, while Ross Lee, Preston Swink, and Carter Clements all finished in the top ten with an 84, 85, and 88 respectively.

On the girls side Carley White, Stevi Alexander, Sarah Thigpen, Paige Ferrell, and Sage Tyra led The Lady Guard to the title shooting 428 as a team outpacing nearest competitor All Saints by 20 strokes.

In regional play, White shot a fantastic score of 80 to lay claim to the Medalist crown, while Alexander, Thigpen, and Ferrell tallied a 111,115, and 122 for a total score of 428, just 7 strokes back of champion team Prince of Peace.

For the boys, Preston Swink finished runner-up in the Medalist hunt with an 81, while Seamands, Clements, Lee, and Maselyn Walker had 85, 90, 93, and 100 to pace the boys to the championship.

Coach Moore, having coached outstanding linksters at Bullard, Chapel Hill, and Jacksonville, now leads his team to Conroe April 20th and 21st, to play for the TAPPS State Title.

Golf 2008-2009

The Brook Hill Golf team competes as a member of TAPPS 3A in District 2.  The Brook Hill Golf team has enjoyed tremendous success over the past several years and that trend looks to be continued in 2008-2009.  The home course for the Golf team is Eagle's Bluff Country Club.
