Golf Coach Tim Moore has a long history of fielding some of the top golf teams in the state year in and year out. This year is no exception.
Moore's Boys Golf team won both the District 4-3A and Regional Championships, while The Lady Guard golfers were also District Champs, and Runner-Up in Regional play.
In district action, Bo Seamands won the Medalist title shooting a sizzling 73 at Eagles Bluff Country Club, host of the district match, while Ross Lee, Preston Swink, and Carter Clements all finished in the top ten with an 84, 85, and 88 respectively.
On the girls side Carley White, Stevi Alexander, Sarah Thigpen, Paige Ferrell, and Sage Tyra led The Lady Guard to the title shooting 428 as a team outpacing nearest competitor All Saints by 20 strokes.
In regional play, White shot a fantastic score of 80 to lay claim to the Medalist crown, while Alexander, Thigpen, and Ferrell tallied a 111,115, and 122 for a total score of 428, just 7 strokes back of champion team Prince of Peace.
For the boys, Preston Swink finished runner-up in the Medalist hunt with an 81, while Seamands, Clements, Lee, and Maselyn Walker had 85, 90, 93, and 100 to pace the boys to the championship.
Coach Moore, having coached outstanding linksters at Bullard, Chapel Hill, and Jacksonville, now leads his team to Conroe April 20th and 21st, to play for the TAPPS State Title.
