Guard Dogs Then & Now

RodFletcherPortraits(TA)-11

From the desk of Rod Fletcher, Headmaster:

Whenever I get the chance, I tell Brook Hill students and families to get involved. One of the best ways to maximize the Brook Hill experience is to take advantage of all the opportunities available. Academics, athletics, the arts, clubs, spirit programs, etc. Because we are family, it’s also important to support each other and encourage each other to use the gifts God has given us.

This morning at the Guard Dog Breakfast I was reminded of just how true this is. I saw high school football players encouraging lower school Guard Dogs and lower school Guard Dogs encouraging high school football players. It was a great example of community. And, because I have been on both sides of this program as a parent, I know firsthand what it means for both the younger group and the older group. Words like community, family, encouragement and inspiration quickly come to mind. I remember when my boys were Guard Dogs and how excited they were to get to know the football players. I also know how much it means to my boys now, as the football players, to be cheered on by the Guard Dogs. The Guard Dog program is a great tradition.

So, let me encourage you again to get involved – it will maximize your Brook Hill experience. And one more thing – don’t wait. As you can see from these old Guard Dog pictures, TIME FLIES!!
