Brook Hill hit the hardwood for three games in three nights at the Union Grove Tournament and faced tough competition from the likes of Class 5A Jacksonville, host Union Grove and Piney Woods, dropping all three games.

The Lady Guard began the event against the hosts and were stopped 61-27. AD Kuechle led the way offensively with 14 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a cold start as Brook Hill fell behind 13-2 at the end of the first period and trailed 31-13 at halftime.

Against Jacksonville, Brook Hill lost 50-24 with again Kuechle the top offensive performer for the Lady Guard with 13 points. Lauren Eden finished one point shy of double figures with nine.

In their third and final game against Piney Wood, the Lady Guard remained close until the final minutes of an eventual 47-37 loss. Missed free throws hurt Brook Hill in the game with the Lady Guard converting just 9 of 22 from the charity stripe.

Eden was Brook Hill’s top scorer with 15 points while Kuechle and Kaitlynn Rhea each finished with eight points.

The Lady Guard (1-5) will look to bounce back after the Thanksgiving holiday with a road trip to Waco Reicher on Tuesday.
