Lady Guard fall on the road at Tyler All Saints

TYLER — The Brook Hill girls varsity fell behind early on against Tyler All Saints and did not recover in an eventual 55-22 loss Friday evening.

The Lady Guard were full of momentum following a non-district win on Tuesday, but were outscored 20-2 in the first quarter and trailed 38-6 at halftime.

Brook Hill scored 16 points in the second half, but it was not enough threaten a comeback.

Kaitlynn Rhea led the Lady Guard on offense with six points with Lauren Eden and AD Kuechle each scoring five points. Kuechle also finished with a team-leading six rebounds with Rhea grabbing four boards. Ke’Airra Christopher, Grace Helmers and Autumn Webb all pulled down three rebounds a piece.

The loss dropped Brook Hill to 7-15 overall and 1-2 in TAPPS District 3-5A. All Saints moved to 2-1 in league play.

The Lady Guard next face district-leading Tyler Grace Community on Friday. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. in Tyler.
