Since the study of science is the discovery of God’s truth as it relates to the world He has created and its natural laws, lower school scholars at The Brook Hill School will discover scientific concepts and content through a hands-on discovery approach. They will explore scientific principles during safe lab experiences as they practice the scientific method and are taught to, “think like a scientist.” Classroom labs and equipment are provided as students enjoy constructing or building on existing knowledge. The supporting text series, Concordia Publisher’s Discovery Works, was chosen because the authors very carefully integrated a Biblical Worldview throughout the series. It carefully downplays the role of evolution while familiarizing students with evolutionary theory. It gives recognition and credence to the scriptural concept of an intelligent designer in regard to earth’s origins and scientific laws. This program successfully integrates the concepts and truths of science with an abiding faith.
