ACSI Math Olympics Area Results Are In and the Winners Are…
The Brook Hill Guard Jr. Scholars took on some new and tough competitions this year. With every contest, they have left me speechless! If you are looking for students who know how to make an entrance, have I got a list of names for you!
The Guard Jr. Scholars math team, The Math Junkies, began their Olympic run in November. 30+ students from grades 3-8 competed in 4 rounds of competition. Each round was 10 minutes long with 7 – 15 problems to solve. The tests were sent in to the ACSI Regional office where they were tabulated and ranked with over 400 students from the Texas district. Brook Hill burst on the scene with 13 of our own advancing to area contest. But they had to wait…until February 17th for the Area Competition.
Leaving campus at dark thirty (I’m not kidding…the sun was not even up yet!), the 13 set out for Plano, Texas and the Area Contest. 220+ students from 6 states were on hand for competition; top of their game and ready to compete for a handful of honors.
After a morning of 8 rounds of contest and lunch, it was time to announce the winners! I am pleased to tell you that 7 of those honors came home to Brook Hill! Way to go Guard Jr. Scholars Math Junkies!!!! If you see these warriors on campus, be sure to give a victor’s welcome home!
