Students in Mrs. Mattay’s class were given the opportunity to use technology to aid in their note taking and learning experience. Students were able to use their smart device to scan QR codes that had notes and videos embedded that contained information about the American Civil War and its effects on Texas. They put this information in their “History INB” (interactive notebook) that contains all their notes for that past year.

“This is a great technique to allow students to be self-learners and to discover information on their own as opposed to being lectured at,” Mattay said.
