From the desk of Rod Fletcher, Headmaster:

I am proud to announce that Brook Hill’s Varsity Orchestra, under the direction of Mrs. Jamie Reason, has won the TAPPS 4A State Orchestra Championship! What a great accomplishment for our students. As a Headmaster, I couldn’t be more proud! Jamie and her students have shown tremendous dedication, talent, and excellence in developing their craft, and this award is a testament to their maturity as musicians.

In the words of Mrs. Jamie Reason, Orchestra Director:

Congratulations to the Brook Hill Varsity Orchestra for becoming the 2015-2016  TAPPS 4A State Orchestra Champions!

Yesterday our orchestra competed in Concert & Sight-Reading events, which was the second round of competition for the Championship title. The Brook Hill Varsity Orchestra received Superior ratings for both their two Large Ensemble performances and corresponding Sight-Reading events, earning them two Sweepstakes titles.

The points earned from yesterday’s events were added together with points earned from the April 1st TAPPS State Solo & Small Ensemble contest, giving Brook Hill Orchestra an impressive 510 points and putting them on top to earn the 4A State Champion Orchestra title!

This is an tremendous accomplishment for our smaller 4A Orchestra of 18 members compared to larger 4A orchestras. Not only did our orchestra have the highest percentage rate of Superior ratings earned, but they also did so while performing music at the highest difficulty level.

Please congratulate these awesome musicians and students when you see them!
