The Brook Hill Guard Varsity Volleyball Team opened the season on a winning note downing Grace in a 5 game set by scores of 17-25, 29-27, 17-25, 25-22, and 15-13.
First year Head Coach Victoria Spencer had high praise for the Lady Guard after the hard fought win over their arch-rivals from Grace.
"Carly Hood played extremely well" Coach Spencer noted. "We played very well for being together for such a short time. We have alot of room for improvement, but we are off to a good start."
Coach Spencer was hired late in the summer and believes her "new team" has started off playing at a good pace. "I am pleased with the ladies efforts, and I think we will continue to get better."
Individual statistics for the Lady Guard include Erica Eden (28 assists, 4 digs), Kelsey Norton (20 digs), Amy Jo Teague (6 kills), Abby Clements (6 kills), Carly Hood (6 kills), Katelyn Adenberg (6 blocks, 4 kills), and M.C. Seldon (10 digs).
