What’s New at the Village?

From the desk of Shawn Rhoads:

What’s new at The Village?

A whole lot, that’s what. New house, new parents, new bus, new countries, new faces.

Our new girls’ house, with its customized suites for forty, its separate study, 40-locker food pantry and expansive common area, is just days away from its grand opening.

Our new house parents, the Albea’s, the Murry’s and the Patterson’s are already taking ownership of their parenting roles and taking great care of our students.

And of course there are all the new faces. This year there are actually more new faces than returning ones, thirty-nine, to be exact.

Amidst all the students in the three houses we have a single-year record of thirteen nations represented, bringing our overall total of nations educated at Brook Hill to twenty-seven. New countries this year include Liberia, Pakistan, the Ukraine and quite possibly Cameroon.

All the newness of the program has given the Village a new life of its own. There is a constant flow of energy and excitement stirring in and through the kids and houses. This is a milestone year for the boarding program at Brook Hill, and it is only going to get better from here.
