Lakenya is a native of Los Angeles county, by way of Compton, California. Lakenya obtained an Associate degree in early childhood development from Grambling State University( Grambling, LA); BA in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills( Carson,California); Masters in Human Services Counseling: Community Care and marriage and family from Liberty University(Lynchburg,VA). Lakenya has been an ordained minister since October of 2009(New Holy Trinity, Pastor G.L.Tucker) and a certified life coach since 2019.
Lakenya have a heart to serve and fiercely care for her community. She has taught grades pk-12th grade since 2005. In addition, she had led multiple women/teen girl Bible studies, women conferences and leadership trainings. Lakenya has also served as a missions coordinator where she led 3 short term missions team to Mombasa, Kenya. Lakenya’s favorite role is cultivating her home and serving alongside her husband in various ministries as bridge builders, connectors, educators and informing communities on racial, systematic and social economic engagements by way of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lakenya along with her husband Nate have 4( Nakayla, Kaniyah, Nathan, and Lily-Haven) amazing children together.
