Rachel Neilson
Mrs. Neilson was born in Mexico City, but raised in the U.S. in Michigan and Texas. Her family was blessed to serve the Lord as missionaries in different churches. She was raised and educated in a family of Christian teachers and a minister who taught her to always follow a Christian lifestyle. Ephesians 2:10, one of her favorite scriptures, says “Teachers plant seeds that grow forever”, therefore understanding that teaching and learning is a never-ending process. Mrs. Neilson is a caring, energetic, and passionate teacher with three decades of experience. She was very blessed to have a grandmother who modeled the value and commitment of becoming a great teacher. Mrs. Neilson graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in Biology and History. She began teaching in Brownsville ISD for 5 years and worked for Dallas ISD for 26 years. She was able to teach History, Science, and Spanish class, and also had the opportunity to coach multiple sports for 10 years. Mrs. Neilson is married to her husband for 24 years and has a son who is currently attending Texas A&M to study engineering. Mrs. Neilson enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, watching movies, eating a good meal, and reading her Bible. Mrs. Neilson’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” because no matter the circumstance, the Lord is always there to guide her to obtain a positive outcome.
