After studying how energy transfers from potential to kinetic energy in a roller coaster, 5^th graders were given the challenge to  build one out of sentence strips and tape.  Students were given the task of building the slowest roller coaster with at least 4 ramps, 2 tunnels, 1 trap door and a surprise.  The slowest time for a marble to roll to completion was 6.89 seconds built by Jessie Glenn, Mattie Cheatham, and Kayla Dahn.
All the students found this to be a fun and engaging challenge!
