Why does The Brook Hill School have an Annual Fund?

The Brook Hill Fund helps to bridge the gap between tuition income and the actual cost of the comprehensive, quality, Christ-centered, college preparatory education that our students receive. These gifts are used during the year in which they are received. Brook Hill depends on current families, alumni and alumni families, grandparents and friends of Brook Hill to support the Brook Hill Fund every year.

Why doesn’t Brook Hill charge the full cost as part of tuition instead of raising funds each year?

The tuition that would be necessary to fund our current level of education would restrict the number of families who could afford to attend. This would limit enrollment which, in turn, could mean a cutback in programs and the quality of education that our families have come to expect.

How much does the school need to raise each year?

Each year the Annual Fund needs is different. The typical Brook Hill Fund goal is $800,000.

How much should I give?

Participation from 100% of the families enrolled at Brook Hill is the overriding goal of the Brook Hill Fund. You determine the size of your gift according to your own charitable interests, your personal willingness to give, and your financial capacity. No gift is too small. Our prayer is that families will give generously and to the best of their ability.

How will my gift be recognized?

All gifts to the Brook Hill Fund, no matter the size, are appreciated and acknowledged. Each year an annual report is published on the website with the names of all donors who wish to be recognized. Also, each donor will receive a special Brook Hill Guardian window decal to proudly display on your vehicle showing support of the Brook Hill Fund.

Does it matter when a gift is made?

Any gift given between July 1 through June 30 will support the Brook Hill Fund. A gift made early in the school year is a great advantage to the school because it enables us to know how much money will be available to support the annual budget.

How and when will I be asked?

The office of development will make four dedicated requests a year. It is not necessary to make a gift each time a request is made. Multiple requests are made throughout the year to enable each family an opportunity to make a gift when it is best for them. Many families give each time a request is made, which enables them to spread out their gifts over time, allowing them to make a bigger impact.

Requests are made as follows:
September – Fall Family Participation Drive
December – Calendar year-end giving request
February – Spring Family Participation Drive
May – Fiscal year-end giving request

What are the other ways the Office of Development works to bridge the gap?

The office of development also holds all school events in which the proceeds support The Brook Hill Fund. The first event is in October and is called Founder’s Day. This is a time for our constituents to come together and honor those who have made a major impact on the life of our school. Other events are held in the spring, including our semi-annual dinner & auction or Hearts for Brook Hill events.
