CAMPAIGN FOR THE BROOK HILL SCHOOL

This coming year has the potential to be a defining moment in the life of our school. As we prepare to celebrate our 25th year as an independent, Christ-centered, college preparatory school, we are proud to launch BOLDLY BROOK HILL: A CAMPAIGN FOR THE BROOK HILL SCHOOL.

Through this $22.5 MILLION CAMPAIGN, we will achieve the vision for Brook Hill’s campus, secure the school’s future, and create new opportunities for our students to know Christ and honor Him through their academic, artistic, and athletic gifts.

Join us as we embark on this campaign. Thank you for your partnership with us as Brook Hill moves BOLDLY forward.

CAMPAIGN GOAL:

$22.5 MILLION

FINE ARTS CENTER & CHAPEL

A FINE ARTS CENTER AND CHAPEL IS THE LAST MAJOR, MISSING PIECE TO THE BROOK HILL PUZZLE.

This facility will complete the original vision for the campus.

Your gift will create new opportunities providing Brook Hill’s students with:

SPECIALIZED CLASSROOMS designed for vocal, instrumental, dramatic, and visual arts instruction, including an orchestra room with space for students and their instruments; a visual arts classroom with the space and materials for students to paint, draw, sculpt, and create; a drama room with a black box theater for rehearsals and smaller performances, and a choir room with excellent acoustics.

INSTRUCTION, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT necessary for students to hone their skills.

AN AUDITORIUM AND STAGE complete with wings, proper lighting, and sound equipment to showcase our students’ talents and bring our community together for performances, assemblies, and lectures. The auditorium will also serve as a sacred space for fellowship and worship through our weekly chapel services. A new auditorium will also improve the audience experience for our existing loyal patrons and help grow new audiences. Moreover, it will help Brook Hill attract, recruit, and retain the best fine-arts faculty and prospective students for years to come.

CAMPUS-WIDE ENHANCEMENTS

LOWER SCHOOL PLAYGROUND

A NEW LOWER SCHOOL PLAYGROUND will provide space for organized play and recreation, along with physical education. Students will learn through play. As they stretch and strengthen their bodies, they also strengthen their friendships and grow their minds.

LOWER SCHOOL LIBRARY

RENOVATIONS TO THE LOWER SCHOOL LIBRARY will transform our current space into a welcoming, engaging, kid-friendly space where we can nurture a love for reading.

UPPER SCHOOL SCIENCE

ENHANCEMENTS TO THE UPPER SCHOOL SCIENCE EXPERIENCE will create new opportunities for students to explore cutting-edge science and technology through updated laboratory spaces and equipment.

LEARNING ENRICHMENT & DYSLEXIA CENTER

A COMPREHENSIVE LEARNING ENRICHMENT AND DYSLEXIA CENTER FOR GRADES 6 THROUGH 12 will ensure bright students who learn differently have access to the specially trained staff, curriculum, equipment, and space they need to make a seamless transition from the Lower School and achieve success in their Middle and Upper School Years.

ORNELAS HALL EXPANSION

THE EXPANSION OF ORNELAS HALL will provide four additional classrooms allowing Brook Hill to expand course offerings and keep class sizes small. In addition, this expansion will physically tie the new Fine Arts Center and Chapel to Ornelas Hall, providing easy passage between the two buildings.

RESIDENTIAL LIFE FACILITIES

UPGRADES TO RESIDENTIAL LIFE FACILITIES will give our on-campus community a true sense of place and foster life-long relationships among students by creating a central entry point, connecting the five houses with pathways, and enhancing the park at the community’s center.

TENNIS COURTS

ON-CAMPUS TENNIS COURTS will provide tennis players space to hone their skills, while introducing more students to the sport and creating a new recreation opportunity for students living on campus.

NEW TURF FIELD

REPLACING THE AGING TURF on Young Field at Herrington Stadium will ensure our student-athletes have a high-quality field for practices and competitions.

SECURITY UPGRADES & NEW ROADS

SECURITY UPGRADES will help us keep our students, families, and staff safe and secure. A fence will provide a barrier between the school and the soon-to-be five-lane Old Jacksonville Highway; a guard house will allow us to better control campus access; and additional campus lighting will provide better visibility for our community at after-hours events.

THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW ROADS will facilitate a more connected campus environment and make travel easier around campus.

ESTABLISH AN ENDOWMENT

AS BROOK HILL APPROACHES ITS 25TH ANNIVERSARY,

we have a bright future ahead of us. The single most important step we can take to secure that future is to establish an endowment. The interest generated from our endowment will provide and income stream to support our operations IN PERPETUITY.

MOREOVER, IT WILL:

  • Reduce our exposure to risk during periods of economic uncertainty.
  • Improve the school’s sustainability over the long term and reduce our dependence on annual fundraising.
  • Allow for additional enhancements and improvements to the school as they are needed.
  • Help us retain and recruit the best teachers through competitive salaries.
  • Enable our leaders to flex and change, take advantage of opportunities as they arise, and innovate so that we can deliver on our promise of excellence for every student, every year.

Because the revenue The Brook Hill School can utilize from the endowment each year only represents a portion of the endowment’s projected investment income, the endowment fund and the revenue stream will grow year after year.

QUITE LITERALLY, YOUR GIFT TO THE ENDOWMENT IS A GIFT THAT WILL KEEP ON GIVING AND KEEP ALLOWING GOD TO WORK THROUGH BROOK HILL.

“I’m not going to be at Brook Hill forever, but I want Brook Hill to be here forever. Making a gift to the endowment is about making sure Brook Hill will still be impacting lives for Christ long into the future. Not just ten years from now, but 100 years from now.”

Director of Advancement and Parent to Three Brook Hill Graduates

YOUR NEXT

BOLD STEP FOR BROOK HILL

WITH YOU AS OUR PARTNER,

WE CAN COMPLETE OUR FOUNDER’S ORIGINAL VISION FOR THE CAMPUS BY BUILDING A NEW FINE ARTS CENTER & CHAPEL.

YOUR GIFT WILL ALSO HELP US MAKE IMPROVEMENTS ACROSS THE CAMPUS – from a new playground and updated library for our youngest students to tennis courts, science labs, a new turf field, a learning enrichment and dyslexia center, an expansion of Ornelas Hall, security enhancements, and renovations at the Boarding Villiage to ensure our students feel right at home no matter how far they’ve come to be part of this incredible place we call The Brook Hill School.

FINALLY, BY ESTABLISHING AN ENDOWMENT, YOU WILL PROVIDE AN INCOME STREAM FOR BROOK HILL IN PERPETUITY. You will ensure that the school we cherish today is still impacting lives for Christ and His Kingdom for decades to come.

IT’S TIME TO STEP BOLDLY FORWARD FOR BROOK HILL’S STUDENTS TODAY AND TOMORROW.
