5th Graders Learn about 9/11

The saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” is evident in the faces of Mrs. Gibson’s 5th grade students as they watched a video at The American Freedom Museum of the two World Trade Center towers being attacked on September 11, 2001, by terrorists.

Through the lesson presented by Mrs. Bynum, the students, who were not even born yet, saw and heard what it was like to be in America on that infamous day. They heard from Mrs. Bynum, Ms. Hommel, and Mrs. Gibson where they were and how they felt when each heard the news of the attack on American soil.

Each student left the American Freedom Museum with a better understanding of the day in our history on 9/11/01 that made Americans more determined than ever that our freedom of “one nation under God” is worth praying for and preserving.
