6th Bible Studies Wisdom
This week in Bible 6 students learned about examples of wise men in the Bible: King Solomon and the prophet Daniel. We explored the reason why each man possessed such wisdom: the fear of the LORD. With a proper respect for God and a proper relationship with Him, the students learned that they too could possess great wisdom.
A huge incentive to seek after wisdom comes from the rewards God gives to the wise. In light of this, we spent time combing through the book of Proverbs in search of God’s promises for those who live with wisdom. As a fun competition, students split into groups in which they competed in a race to interpret various proverbs in order to match a designated blessing with the correct proverb. Each student within each group had to talk through their own opinion of what each proverb promised, then had to decide with their group which interpretation matched-up best with the choices they were given. The results were good competition AND an exercise focused on the reading of God’s word in community!
