To better understand physical properties of matter, 6^th graders have been identifying minerals.  They have used the properties of color, luster, hardness, taste, smell, feel and magnetism to discover which minerals were quartz, galena, halite, gypsum, pyrite, calcite, muscovite, talc and apatite.  Minerals are just a small part of the beauty of our planet!
