Eighth graders conducted a rotation lab on solubility where they tested different mixtures to classify them as a heterogeneous mixture or a solution.  They also determined the solvents and the solutes in the different mixtures.  Students also looked at solutions to see if light could pass through the solution and compared magnets attraction to paper clips as being like  hydrogen bonding with oxygen in a water molecule.  Lastly, students looked at the concentration of a solution.  It was a good way to see if students could apply what we have been learning about the last few days in class.
