After studying Satire and reading Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal”, Mrs. Huggins’ Junior Humanities classes had an opportunity to write a Modest Proposal of their own. Students were instructed to use elements of satire to bring to light the faults of an aspect of society that they believe needs reform. Students then presented their proposals to the class. Topics were addressed from Gun Control and Global Warming to the atrocity of Smacking While Eating Food.
