Mrs. Dahn’s 1st grade class interrupted our chapel this week for a special broadcast. Students asked the question, “What would a valentine from God look like?” At first we thought he might just make bigger valentines, but after some research, we found that it was so much more! God gives his children the deepest love, demonstrated through Jesus’ incarnation and sacrifice for us. He has also given us creation, forgiveness, and the hope of eternal life. We discovered that God’s love is indeed the “biggest” valentine of all. But that left us wondering, “How can we give a valentine to God?” Our 1st graders helped us understand that God longs for us to cultivate our relationship with him through prayer. He also calls us to sacrificially serve others just as he as served us. Finally, we learned that we ought to praise and worship God because we are in awe of his great love.
