From the desk of Michelle Rozell, Upper School Principal:

It’s already mid-February and peeking around the corner are such calendar events as the TAPPS Orchestra, Choir and Art competitions, golf, track, baseball, softball, and the always anticipated spring musical just to name a few of the many opportunities afforded the Brook Hill students this time of year. As we close out basketball, soccer, and TAPPS Speech and Academic meet, we want to remind everyone what BH offers to students in the way of academic support and introduce once again, Mrs. Sandy Brindley, new ACE coordinator extraordinaire who has already made a big splash with the students who have begun to take advantage of her services in a variety of ways.

Fulfilling the vision for the Academic Center for Excellence begun almost 3 years ago, the new Mrs. “B” offers her skills in tutoring, organizing and developing academic plans, along with monitoring the students’ progress in their classes. She is available to all sixth through twelfth grade students during study halls, off-blocks, and the ACE block every Tuesday for twenty-five minutes. Because spring is a high traffic season with lots of students having to miss multiple classes, ACE will also be open from time to time on Saturdays 8:00-12:00, currently scheduled for February 22 and 29 to make up missed quizzes and tests.

I know that many of you came by and met Mrs. “B” at the Open House hosted a couple of weeks ago, but I would like to invite you again to do so if you haven’t. Also, please inform your child that ACE is available to him/her at any time he/she needs during study halls and ACE blocks. We are convinced that a little extra one-on-one is very valuable to any student feeling overwhelmed by their schedule and a study buddy like Mrs. “B” can be that extra special someone at just the right time.
