From the desk of Brian Nelson, Dean of Academics:
The goal of the Academic Center for Excellence is to oversee the academic success of the students by providing a variety of services in order to empower them to be successful at Brook Hill and beyond. Since its opening in 2010, ACE has proven to be a great benefit to our students.
The 2013-2014 school year has come with some enhancements to ACE. I am pleased to introduce you to the New and Improved ACE. I know you will quickly discover the reason Upper School ACE is the place!

ACE is now complimented by content-specific assistance during A-block. These resource centers are staffed with faculty from their respective academic departments.

B-G blocks: ACE Room
The ACE Room is open for students to receive assistance in academic content as well as academic skills (time management, test-taking strategies, organizational assistance, etc.). Mrs. Hubbard, ACE Coordinator, monitors student progress and initiates meetings with students in jeopardy of failing a course.
NEW Tuesday ACE blocks
During the new ACE block on Tuesdays, classroom teachers are available in their rooms to provide additional assistance. The ACE Room is also open for students to receive assistance in academic content as well as academic skills (time management, test-taking strategies, organizational assistance, etc.). Later this month, ACE will be holding mini-workshops to help students build successful academic skills.
Wednesday ACE Testing Center
The ACE Room is open on Wednesday mornings (8:00-9:00) to allow students to make-up missed tests or quizzes.
At Brook Hill, our desire is to prepare your child for the rigors of college and life. We want to partner with you to provide a strong academic support program to help your child realize his/her potential now. Encourage your child to take advantage of all ACE has to offer!
