AP Environmental Science Studies Pond

AP Environmental Science explored our 280 acre campus as part of a class assignment. Students are learning about different aspects of water quality and how certain species are good indirect indicators of water quality because they are sensitive to pollution and low oxygen levels. The class went to the outdoor education center at the pond in order to look for these indicator species and get an idea of how healthy the pond is. We were able to find several different types of insects and other aquatic organisms that indicate the pond is a healthy body of water.
