As a part of their study of botany and taxonomy, pre-AP biology students dissected flowers and beans to observe the external and internal structures during a lab.  Students then used this knowledge to determine which reproductive structures are represented in fruits and beans.  Additional activities in the lab involved explaining the flow of fluids in xylem and examining the various forms of plant organs such as leaves.
