Brook Hill Students Compete in Ethics Bowl
From the desk of Jordy Barksdale, Director of Campus Life & Ministry:
On Wednesday, five Brook Hill students competed in the 4th Annual Ethics Bowl hosted by the University of Texas at Tyler’s Center for Ethics. Our students were grouped in to teams of five students from private and public schools across Smith County. The teams argued and defended their moral assessment of some of the most complex ethical issues facing today’s culture. There were eight questions that addressed a wide array of topics in business ethics, in personal relationships, and in social and political affairs. Each team took part in four different rounds of presentation. In each presentation, the judges compiled scores for the team that contributed to the overall score at the end of the day.
Brook Hill was well represented during the awards presentation. Hunter Knight’s team came in second place and Chipper Adams’ team came in first place, taking home the title of East Texas Team Champion.
Congratulations to all of our students who represented Brook Hill so well at the Ethics Bowl, we are proud of you!
