Speech students were on the edge of their seats Wednesday morning when they had a visit from Mike Landess and Gillian Sheridan, news anchors for CBS 19. The duo gave students an inside look at their daily life at work, and spoke about the essentials of delivering the news live for all to see. It was a great opportunity for our students to see how the principles they’re learning in speech make all the difference in many career paths, especially ones that require them to present in front of other people. Plus, who better to learn from than those who are expected to perform at professional level day in, day out.

At the end of class, our students also got to take turns giving “impromptu” news in front of their classmates. Mike and Gillian offered advice to each student and encourage them to continue developing their communication skills!
