Celebrating Cinco de Mayo at Brook Hill

We decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo a little early this year since it was a Friday. After studying Cinco de Mayo in class, 4th and 5th grade Spanish students snacked on chips & salsa, tried a new drink, and played games. PreK students enjoyed making sombreros to wear and taking a swing at a piñata.

A short history lesson: Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of the bravery of an outnumbered group of Mexican soldiers who won the battle at Puebla, Mexico in 1862.
