The scientific method was put into practice this week in chemistry lab. Students mixed two compounds and an indicator solution in a sealed bag and observed exciting results: fizzing, color change, heat, and even expansion of the bag. The students formed questions about this reaction (what caused the color change? what happened that gave off gas? etc.). Then they derived their own methods of determining what combinations of chemicals produced each of those results.  It’s great to have fun while you’re thinking!
