During library class, Mrs. Bell’s prekindergarten students listened to A Christmas Wish for Corduroy, by Don Freeman. In the story we learn that little bear, Corduroy, decides he must find new clothes to wear to meet Santa even though real bears do not need clothes. Students drew Corduroy in his new clothes so he could meet and tell Santa about his special wish–finding a home. The story ends happily because this little bear finds a special friend who takes him home.
