Alan Zhu performed last Saturday, January 23rd as an elite member of the 2014 TMEA All-Region Honors Band in the 2016 TMEA Region Band concert held at Longview High School Auditorium.

Alan earned his position as one of the very best and top clarinetists in our large region by learning and auditioning on the three difficult State clarinet etudes. He competed in November against numerous other clarinetists, mostly from public schools with band programs numbering in the hundreds, and earned an impressive 7th chair in the highest level Region Band, the Honors Band!

Alan, along with all the Honor Band members, spent two days in clinic rehearsal to prepare for their spectacular Region band concert.

Alan’s achievement was definitely a standout for our school as Brook Hill was the only private school represented in the 2016 TMEA Region Honors Band. Thank you and congratulations Alan!!
