Cultivating a Prayer Life at Brook Hill

From the desk of Ginger Bell, Director of Family and Alumni Relations:

Prayer is what brought Brook Hill into existence. God laid the vision on the heart of our founder, Steve Dement, and his accountability group began praying.  Our prayers have been beautifully answered for more than 20 years and we are so grateful.  For those new to our community, we work to share prayer requests and praises weekly in this blog so we may lift the needs and our gratitude as a group.  Please send your prayer requests and praises to me so I may share with our family.

Another means of covering Brook Hill in prayer is through our Moms in Prayer weekly meetings.  We gather together to pray for specific school, student, and family needs while reflecting on who our God is and His desires for us.  We are ready to begin our meetings for this school year and are looking for the mom who would like to step into the leadership role.  Once we have our leader, we will set the day/time for our meetings and begin praying in earnest!  If this is something you would like to participate in, either as a leader or a prayer warrior, please contact me at 903-894-5000, ext. 7000 or by email at [email protected].

This week’s post is specifically to thank our Father for a precious little healthy baby girl who was born this summer to our BH mom, Christi Zimmerman.  Many of you know Christi was diagnosed with ALS in January 2014 and has been fighting this horrible disease valiantly while giving all the glory to God for what He has done in her life and the lives of others because of this diagnosis.  She and her husband, J.D., had prayed for a child for years and God miraculously blessed her with a pregnancy.  There were certainly many unknowns, but through it all Christi maintained her faith and shown our Father’s love to so many others.  And now, Emily Elizabeth Zimmerman is blessing others just like her mama.  Please continue to pray for this family as they face the uncertainty of the coming days.  And, as they prepare for Jordan, Christi’s son, to graduate this year and begin the next phase of his life.  God is so good!
