The Herrington Gym was packed on Monday night for the 2016 Brook Hill Dodgeball Championships. The single-elimination bracket was set for all 14 teams to compete to see who would take away the grand prize. Each team had a total of six players, four guys and two girls. The students formed the teams in weeks leading up the event and had to come up with creative names. A few of the more unique names were the Ball Americans, United Nations, Swamp Assassins and the Finna be a Winnas.

Each game matched up a team from the same side of the bracket until the final two competed in the championship game. The Jersey Boys (Parker Galbraith, Alec Kitt, Miguel Vega, Jacob Yeager, AD Kuechle and Maddie Anthony) won the right side of the bracket and the Fab 6 (Garrett Davis, Caleb Hopkins, Grace Brasher, Jared Johnson, Olivia Hancock and Tagen Parma) won the left side of the bracket.

The crowd was on the edge of their seats for the championship game that consisted of a combination of sophomores and juniors. The Fab 6 pulled off several upsets on the way to the championship after beating two senior squads. The Jersey Boys just weren’t enough for the dominate freshmen, as the Fab 6 toppled them in the final round.

Congrats to the Fab 6 and to all of the players on a successful tournament!
