Fabulous Fine Arts Week at the Lower School

We celebrated Fine Arts Week in a very big way at the Lower School. The Upper School Orchestra and Theater Department helped us kick off the week long celebration with exceptional performances. Then, author, Ms. Mary Brooke Cassad, entertained third-fifth grade students with tales of an armadillo named Bluebonnet. Wednesday, the entire school was treated to an energetic, dynamic presentation by Ms. Elizabeth Kahura. Ms Kahura, originally from Kenya, included students during her performance by letting many students play musical instruments  from Africa. Other students dressed up as villagers and helped her tell an Anansie, the spider tale. Prek-second graders also were treated to a dance demonstration by Brook Hill student, Courtney Bugg and several dance students. Last, but not least, beautiful art and library research was on display the entire week for all to enjoy!  We had a wonderful week. Fine Arts is alive and well at Brook Hill!
