Fifth Grade Classes Visit the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston

Fifth Grade Students along with Mrs. Savage, Mrs. Gibson, Mrs. Fritcher, and chaperones, visited the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston. Students explored and experienced many facets of  NASA and related space projects. Favorite activities included “Operation Blast Off”–a presentation about the Mars Rover, “Vacuums in Space”–experimenting with marshmallows using an air extractor, tour of the Space Shuttle, and viewing the original control room.

Katelynn Henics writes in her report, ” I liked this trip because I am into science. It was very educational…I learned that a rocket can travel up to 17,000 mph.!  Also, packing for a space trip isn’t as easy as it looks!”
