From March Madness to the May Finish

MRozell(TA)-2

From the desk of Michelle Rozell, Upper School Principal:

Does it seem impossible to you, too, that we are already to Spring Break?  I can’t believe it!  With SPARC following Spring Break, and then Resurrection Week, we will be closing out another month and find ourselves eight weeks away from the finish!  Are you ready? Have you prepared for everything that needs to happen before summer gets here?

If you are a parent of a current 9th, 10th or 11th grader, here is your priority list:

  • Re-enroll at Brook Hill for next year. Some of our classes are getting close to full enrollment.
  • Meet with Mrs. Tucker to set up your child’s schedule for the 2016-2017 school year.
  • During these last 8 weeks, use RenWeb to help monitor and encourage a strong academic finish. Communicate with teachers if there is any concern.

Parents of seniors, I can imagine that you’re starting to have some mixed emotions as you realize that your child has almost reached a major milestone and a new chapter is about to begin.  However, before graduation arrives, here are some important details to remember:

  • Consult the Class of 2016 News document that was emailed this week from Julie Hanks. This has a very detailed list of deadlines and dates that you need to know.
  • Check your child’s grades weekly. This is really not the time for surprises that can cause heart failure! Look on RenWeb & talk with your child’s teachers, or call me if there is the slightest concern.
  • Try to enjoy some special moments with your senior before they walk the stage. Take it from a Mama who has been there three times, those opportunities are few and far between once they officially become an adult!

Blessings on you and your family for a wonderful Spring Break!
