Guard Chorale sings the national anthem and “Happy Birthday”
It’s not uncommon to hear the Brook Hill Guard Chorale singing in some unusual places around campus. The choir regularly sings a special arrangement of Happy Birthday for faculty and staff on their birthdays. It has become a tradition that staff members look forward to each year. The four part harmonies have been known to cause a few teachers to tear up and many want to video the students singing to show their families. Another place you will likely hear members of the choir is before athletic events, singing their special arrangement of the national anthem. The students sing for football, volleyball, basketball and baseball games throughout the year. This particular year-long project is something that is quite unique for the Brook Hill choir students. Most school choirs learn the national anthem for occasional special events but the Guard Chorale sings at sporting and other events all year long.
So along with numerous concerts and TAPPS contests throughout the year, these two projects set the Guard Chorale singers apart from other choirs in East Texas.
