Rather than simply telling our students what to think, Brook Hill teaches students how to think.

One of the ways we do this is through conversations about important topics. For example, in this week’s chapel, we discussed the honor code by starting with a faculty-produced skit about cheating and then asking, “What went wrong here?” Students then discussed the roles that teachers, bystanders, and cheaters could play in failing to uphold the honor code. Chapel ended by citing Ecclesiastes 4:12 with a reminder that we are most likely to be honorable when we are in a community of people who are committed to doing the right thing.
