Fourth graders have been experiencing changes of state in science lab in a fun and tasty way! After learning about the properties of solids, liquids and gases, they studied how heat transfer results in melting, freezing, condensation and evaporation. The students made ice cream in a Baggie in 5 minutes and observed energy changes taking place. While it was really a cold experiment, it was also a “cool” one!
