LOWER SCHOOL INNOVATION LAB GRAND OPENING

“What good is an idea if it remains an idea?

Try. Experiment. Iterate.

Fail. Try again.

Change the world.”

– Simon Sinek

This past week we celebrated the official opening of our Lower School Innovation Lab with an afternoon of exploration and hands-on creativity! Following the Grand Opening of our Upper School Graves Center for Innovation this past fall, we were excited to officially open a similar space on our Lower School campus! Our newly designed lab, located next to the Library provides a space for students to use interactive technology, experiment, create on the 3D printer, build on the lego wall, and participate in a host of hands-on learning moments that have been, and will continue to be a vital part of our curriculum.

Our hope is that Brook Hill students are world changers, the “movers and shakers” of their communities and that their love for learning drives them to be lifelong curious thinkers and innovators. With each Mind Mission challenge they tackle or structure they build, our goal is to instill confidence and lay a foundation that makes failure, creativity, and innovation possible.

Students and parents were able to experience this unique learning environment through interactive stations that have specifically been designed to ignite curiosity and cultivate wonder in our Lower School students. We’re so grateful to all of those who joined us for the afternoon, and to those who have worked so hard to make this space a reality.

As we continue to provide STEM opportunities and foster our students’ creativity we also continue to be amazed at the way our students adapt and explore! We’re looking forward to watching our Lower School students utilize this space and can’t wait to see how they change the world.
