LOWER SCHOOL LEAP LOUNGE GRAND OPENING

This year has given us new spaces, and new opportunities as a school. One of those spaces is our Lower School Leap Lounge.

The Lower School Learning Enrichment & Academic Potential (LEAP) program exists to not only help students realize their academic potential through support programs but also to enrich the learning environment of students through innovative programs that develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

This new, innovative space is unlike any other in the area and allows our students to have a quiet, focused space that has been designed specifically for specialized learning time. With the number of students who learn differently growing every year, spaces and programs like LEAP are becoming an essential part of holistic education.

Meri Mullicane serves as our LEAP Director, and Gayla McKnight serves as the Academic Intervention Specialist. Both have years of experience in education, and specifically with students who learn differently. We’re so thankful as a school to have them on our team and value their mission to see children realize their potential.

The space is fitted with special furniture and desks to facilitate a better learning environment and to allow students and faculty to have productive learning sessions. In addition to our LEAP Director and Academic Intervention Specialist, we also have two teaching assistants to aid students.

This space has been a game-changer for our students and families and we’re excited about the opportunity to continue partnering together in the mission to provide an excellent education for all of our students at Brook Hill. For more information about the services that we offer you can visit our LEAP page.

The grand opening of the space will be next week, November 20th, and we invite all of our Brook Hill community to join us in celebrating at 3:30 pm on Wednesday afternoon with an opportunity to speak with staff and tour the space.
